Grants Made Easy Applications vs. General Applications
Grants Made Easy Applications
Grants Made Easy (GME) applications are templated and based on proven best practices and are therefore given priority funding consideration. Each GME application focuses on one specific program area and is comprised of predetermined sets of goals and objectives. In addition to ensuring the use of best practice grant activities, GME applications typically reduce the time required to complete a grant application. There are seven GME templates in eGrants, and OTS has created the PDF documents below to show what each GME template consists of:
General OTS Applications
General OTS applications are non-templated and allow applicants to customize a grant application to meet their needs. Applicants choosing this format must create their own applications by selecting goals and objectives from the OTS master list and/or writing their own goals and objectives. They must also determine and justify all application costs. General applications are typically more comprehensive in nature than OTS GME applications and take longer to complete. A General OTS grant application may be submitted for any of the OTS Priority Areas, whose descriptions can be found on the OTS website under What We Do.
So, which do I choose?
OTS encourages you to start by identifying your traffic safety problem(s) by reviewing traffic collision data, including the OTS Collision Rankings. After identifying your traffic safety problem(s), review the GME grants to determine if they will meet your needs. If you are unable to find an appropriate GME, then select a General application. If you have additional questions or require assistance in making this decision, please contact your OTS Coordinator.
